For T-mobile, I purchased unlimited text messaging, this keeps me from having to run up a bill using the SMS IM service, Since I text allot already, it seems to be fine, I have used this from my crappy first nokia all the way up to my RAZR, Blackberry and now the Dash. Personally the Blackberry is a waste because you need a data plan to even use the IM services, so I tend to like the dash better...
I'll be pissed if I have some bogus charge for the Instant messaging when I have unlimited texts and such.

They have you pay 29.99 for internet on the MDA then charge you for text messaging fees. T-Mobile is full of crap! They don't charge an IM fee for the sidekick. If you have internet service at home IM isnt billed so why does t-mobile charge and why only for certain phones. That is ridiculous!!

Well if you have Yahoo! you can use IM for free with Yahoo! Mobile it is through your mobile internet service so you aren't charged for messages. Go to Yahoo.com on your cell phone and you will see a link that says mobile web when you click it it gives you features you can use and messager is one of them

I like the fact that the instant messaging only uses the text messaging charges because I would rather not pay the huge bill of having the data plan.
This phone was a savior because it had WiFi which eliminated my need for a data plan. I know, it'd be nice to use the internet or check your emails when a WiFi connection is unavailable, but with all the WiFi connections available (especially in a metropolitan area like LA or SF), there's no need to pay for a data plan. I'm fine with my voice plan with the added unlimited text messaging; the best deal ever. |
