HTC Touch - SMS Doesn't Alert!

Hello, I have an Alltel HTC Touch with WM6.1. Under Settings and notifications I have everything setup with some sort of sound or notification. My incoming SMS DO NOT alert/play a sound and the SMS does not pop up on the screen when a new one arrives to me. I have all the alert boxes checked but still no sound. My MMS alerts/plays sound/pops up on the screen perfectly. Same with sending a MMS. But the SMS does NOT play any alerts, etc...the screen will be turned on and a "1" will appear in my inbox. Not sure why, but I did recently change my "threading" conversation mode to the normal mode that it was before on WM5.

ANY help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Do you find this valuable?

Hi, i also hv the same problem, only mine come with the vibrate only and sometimes with alert tone plus vibrate. Pls help as i want to have alert tone for SMS only.
