Smartphone Guides

HTC produces a wide range of smartphones, and for its own purposes gives each device a "codename." When a distributor or phone network wants to sell one of HTC's devices, it rebrands the phone to its own specifications, sometimes changing the color, the design on the case, and parts of the software. The smartphone also receives a new name. Because of the rebranding process, there are many phones with different names that are actually the same device. Below, each device is listed with its HTC codename first, followed by a list of a.k.a. (also known as) names of the device's various branded models.

Notice: Please be careful when downloading applications for your smartphone. Neither HTC nor the HTC Wiki can assure that all the links posted here are valid software and not malware. For more information see the HTC Wiki Validity of Content page.

Anonymous HTC TYTN II - Problem 3 Apr 30 2008, 11:25 PM EDT by Anonymous
Thread started: Sep 26 2007, 7:53 PM EDT  Watch
I purchased an unlocked TYTN II a couple of weeks ago in the US and brought it to Mexico (where I live). I put my SIM card (Telcel) and started to configure my phone. However when the configuration screen asked me to select the country where my cellular operator is, Mexico is not included in HTCs list. As such, I am having compatibility issues. I strongly suspect that my TYTN II is the European version, does anyone know if I can install the North American operating/installation system in my phone? If so how? And, will this potentially eliminate my compatibility issue? (North American versions generally have Mexico included). If not, does anyone have a potential solution? Many thanks!

I got a Touch Cruise Yesterday but it doesn't have TomTom software, it has something called Mapkink Asia. Not only that, but there isn't a business card reader on it, I thought the cruise had that.... oh, and the charger is a Euro style... I had to charge the phone with a USB Cable on My laptop.
