I am using the 8525 with the new rom update andWindows Mobile Device Center synching to Vista. I can set up a profile and start the sync but it never finishes. d do not get any conflicts. I need support and advice on what I can do to fix this problem. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I do not have a solution . . . I have the same problem. I had it prior to the update since the update just turns off my device and does not work. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

After three hours with an HTC support person we started to rebuild the sync from the ground up. This done by first backing up your data not programs using a backup program. From the control panel remove Windows Mobile Device Center. While you are in control panel go to system mantenance menu and under device manager uninstall the htc driver. Reboot the computer. Download Windows Mobile Device Center from Microsoft. It took about fifteen minutes for the setup and sync after rebuilding the sync 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Well, I just bought a laptop. WMDC was already in my control panel. I hate screwing with some shell programing, but I just may.

I also cannot keep my phone on and in active sync to install the new rom update. First, when it checks out the phone . . . I get the 4 layered color screen and have to do a reset. After, I finally get it to communicate again and move on past the the download agreements--it powers my phone off as soon as communication begins. I just got my 8525 in April, so it has never had an update. I wonder if not doing one before now is part of the problem.

Change the connection type to RNDIS
To do that on your device
Tap on Start>Setting>Connection Tab>USB To PC> Check the option

I ended up reading where someone just left their device bricked and successfully installed the update. I did the same thing and it works! Do you find this valuable?

If you select only Calendar and Mail to syncronise, you will not have the problem. It is not ideal, but at least you can work until Microsoft find a solution (if ever). Hope that his helps you. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
