ATT Tilt Won't Wake Up!
Nov 12 2007, 11:45 AM EST Purchased a new ATT Tilt 11/10. Associated to and synced with Vista PC, added NO software. Charged via USB all night. Could not wake 11/11. Removed battery and started without incident. Used unit 11/11 and morning of 11/12 it would not wake. Seems to be good phone otherwise. I do not believe that promising a resolution with first maintenance release (no release date given) is sufficient. This is a significant problem as phone calls cannot be received - unacceptable situation for someone in medicine!! 9 out of 10 found this valuable. Do you? |

Nov 15 2007, 6:01 PM EST Did you have the password protection on? With it on, Tilt sometimes would appear to be in sleep mode with backlight on. And no button except the power button would respond. Press the latter wakes up the unit and allow you to unlock it by password. 1 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Nov 16 2007, 3:29 PM EST I agreet! I have a brand new device...everytime I am on the phone I lose the ability to get to an application, because of this start button issue. The fact that it is suggesting a hard reset is ridiculous. As a sales device it is important to be able to open apps to make notes, access documents, etc. This used to work on my old 8125!! As for the screen goign to sleep, during a phone call, waking it up with the scoll bar or power button doesn't work either, as suggested. Very frustrating when you are in vmail and you can't delete b/c you can't see the screen. Is this an HTC issue or a Microsoft issue?!?!?! Do you find this valuable? |

Start Button frozen : Frustrating
Nov 18 2007, 3:04 PM EST I hope they will fix it. It Is a bug. The way around: press power button briefly , to turn off display and then press again. When display turns on, you will see again START word next to start icon, instead of frozen, non refreshed previos command. It has nothing to do with any third party software: I had/have this problem on new out of box unit. Got to be HTC problem: refresh screen command lost Do you find this valuable? |

Nov 19 2007, 5:15 AM EST Mine would turn off by itself and not restart without removing and replacing the battery. After about the 5th time, I took it back and got a new one. One week so far and no problems.....yet. Do you find this valuable? |

So is this what I have to look forward to for trading in my 8525 with windows mobile 6 i may add for more space, a nicer look, better camera and a few other bells and whistles.. Jan 1 2008, 7:29 PM EST If charging by usb when phone has minimal charge or no charge, will not charge equip. Use wall charger and give at least 10 mins of charge, then this will turn on your phone. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jan 24 2008, 9:17 PM EST This has happened to me with a new tilt.. several times.. The only solution is to remove and replace the battery. The on/off fails to work as well when the system locks up. Classic MSFT operating system glitch, I suspect, rather than hardware issue. Do you find this valuable? |

Feb 20 2008, 11:26 AM EST i have had this phone 3 days and it has quit working. i mean it wont budge at all. no power. it worked at 2 in the morning and when i got up for the day at 5 a.m. it would not turn on. pulled the battery and tried a number of things and it just wont do anything. AT&T talked me out of the palm treo because it has a freezing problem, well, what the hell is this? 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Mar 11 2008, 11:22 AM EDT The new ROM upgrade did NOT fix this problem on my Tilt. Power button does nothing. When you hit soft reset, it displays the first 2 screens, then nothing. The 3G screen is the last screen you see. Only a hard reset brings it back, but everything you have entered is lost. I have done the hard reset so many times that the device seems to be damaged. After the last one, the touch screen no longer works with the stylus, but sometimes works with a hard finger nail jab. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Mar 21 2008, 8:03 PM EDT I'm on my second tilt; same hibernate sleep issue with each. With the first I allowed the at&t software to load; the second I didn't. Both had/have the ROM udpate. The second isn't quite as bad as the first. I emailed HTC support. Their response: "It is definitely unfortunate that you have experienced this issue with your device, in this case regarding the Tilt having to go through a soft-reset in order to bring it out of sleep mode. We have received similar user feedback and are currently tracking this issue. We have escalated this internally to our Product Development Team. Unfortunately, HTC does not have any software updates available that address this as an issue at this point in time. We apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused you. Please check our software updates page for future updates on this device." Do you find this valuable? |

Apr 1 2008, 4:17 PM EDT mine too... i am on my second tilt. for my first one, i used it for like 2 weeks, then, all the sudden, it couldnt get the 3g connection, then i restarted it, then none of the buttons worked, so i had to do the soft reset. then the tilt froze at the today's screen. i had to soft reset again. then it froze again, i had to soft reset it for the third time. then everything seemed fine. before this incident, mine only froze for once. well, i couldnt really trust it then, so i exchange for a new one from att. so far everything seemed ok, except now it had this problem that the on/off button occasionally didnt work. i had used it for less than 2 weeks, but it couldnt awake from sleep for 3 times. frustrating... i hope the later htc update will fix this. Do you find this valuable? |
