When I had this error message, I had to soft rest my device and re-establish my connection to the GPRS Network. One other thing you might try is disabling the Proxy Manager (although you should be able to update Quick GPS with it enabled).

I spoke to a technician at HTC and they said the software may have gotten corrupted and the only way to fix it was to do a hard reboot and start over. This was not my first choice but I did it and it now works 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I have same problem and none of the fixes, hard or soft resets work. It appeared to download once but then produced the same failed message at the end. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Try getting the update via acticvesync and desktop pass through.

In Quick GPS, go to Options in Menu. Make sure that "Autodownload when data expires" and "Autodownload when connected to a PC" boxes are checked. I had the same problem you describe and when I checked these boxes the download worked. 3  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

I have done both on my xda orbit without any success with updating. Basically these companies are peripheral to the GPS issue so don't expect a decent service. How complicated is it to arrange an automatic update of files? The only device and software combination that works is Tomtom.

Mogul cab install quickGps information : I found that Qgps downloads the xtra.bin to the Temp directory but validates for the file in the \windows directory. Same error messages. (downloading then Connection failed. Please try again later) It uses the file validation to confirm connection was successful. If the file is not in the windows directory connection shows failed. When I manually move the xtra.bin file from \Temp to \windows directory the file expirition date shows up on Qgps. 7  out of 9 found this valuable. Do you?

This must be a bigger problem than we think - My own HTC unit won't update and the 20 works units won't either.
No ammount of resteting (hard or soft) or syncing helps.

If HTC are watching this thread - come on guys, what's going wrong ?

I'm having the same problem. It will connect to every other website in the world, but will not connect to QuickGPS. I assume their server's down. I wish there was a way to find out. I sure don't want to spend another weekend doing a hard-reset/rebuild, since I just did that 6 weeks ago. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Well go figure ... it just started working after I connected via ActiveSync. It also downloads now with the 3G connection. I hope it keeps working as I re-add the software after the hard reset. Do you find this valuable?

I was having the same problem since 3/24 and last update. Today it worked. I was trying through 3G and USB cable prior and this time I enabled Wireless network. Don;t know if it came back online once they realized it was down after their latest updte on a Monday morning or the connection issue. Do you find this valuable?
