USB device not recognized and WM6
Aug 29 2007, 4:47 PM EDT
I put WM6 (Windows Mobile 6) in my HTC TyTn and I am using XP,
I have hard reset the device, reinstalled activsync 4.5 and it keeps showing the message "USB device not recognized" (USB Device not recognised).
any ideas please ?

Thanks for your response. I've found the solution. It had nothing to do with
Vista or with WMDC 6.1 it was a setting on my HTC S710. I removed the
following setting:
Step 1: Press Start
Step 2: Select settings
Step 3: Select (6) Connections
Step 4: Select (0) More
Step 5: Select (1) USB to PC
Changing the type of USB connection your device uses can help with problems
connecting ActiveSync.
Step 6: Disable the option - Enable advanced network functionality
Step 7: Press done 3 times
Step 8: Return to main screen.
Step 9: Uninstall unrecognized USB device in device manager (on PC)
Step 10: reboot Phone and reconnect

Problem solved WMDC 6.1 recognizes my HTC.

Ran into the same problem with my 8525, Latest AT&T WM 6.0 conected to a Vista Ultimate Laptop. Shared the connection via program. to no avail, set up ntetworking per other posts, no mater what I did I still got the usbsynch not recognized. For the heck of it I went into start / settings and selected usb to pc, unchecked the advanced functionality tab and saved. Vista immediated notified me of installing the HTC sync components.....All of this happened after updating my 8525 from WM 5 to WM 6....the above corrected my issue....
