Start WM Calendar in Month View
Jul 20 2007, 4:59 PM EDT
Here's what you do:
1) Explore the files on your phone through ActiveSync and go to \Windows
2) Find the "Calendar" file (it's a shortcut, but doesn't show the ".lnk" extension)
3) Drag the file to your desktop (turn on viewing of hidden files if you don't already)
4) Change the properties of the file to turn off the Read-Only flag.
5) Open the file in Notepad. The contents should look something like this:
21#:MSCALENDAR?:calendarapp
6) Change the contents to read:
21#"\Windows\poutlook.exe" calendar -vm?:calendarapp
7) Save the file and copy back to your phone.
8) You may also want to update the shortcut under "\Windows\Start Menu".

Why all the complexity?
open Calendar
select MENU
select TOOLS
select 1 OPTION
"Start in:" window pops up
select "Month view"
hit DONE
and you're done
Cheers

Yeah the latter one is how I changed mine, no need to hack away. Although if complexity floats your boat then sail away! Do you find this valuable?

If you look at the post dates on those comments it was 7/20/2007 back when WM 5 was the standard and WM 6.0 was being released little by little . Good info for people just starting oout with new pocketpc's though

Pocket Outlook is nice, but I prefer using Pocket Informant 8. The month view is much more robust. When you click on a date in the month view, it brings a small pane up at the bottom to show you what appointments you have that day. In Pocket Outlook, when tapping on a date, it brings you to the agenda view, then you have to go back to month view.. Very annoying. I wrote a full review of Pocket Informant 8 for pocketnow.com and you can find the link in my profile.

OOO I see now. My ignorance held no bliss there, apologies for being blind. But yes, good info I agree.
