Persistance pays off

Finally got this to work... here are the gotchas I ran into:

-After copying the CAB files to my BlackJack, I found they didn't show up in MyStuff. I had to go back to ActiveSync and put shortcuts to them on the Start menu to run/install them.
-RegEditSTG is *very* confusing at first. When the left soft key says Values, it means it's displaying Keys, and Menu | 1 is New Key. Press Values and it says Keys, which means you're looking at Values, and can create a Value. Wow! Once you figure that out it's easy though.
-Eventually I realized that the Bluetooth device "BT GPS" has to match the registry entries "BT GPS". My iBlue737 default device name was "iBT-GPS". I decided to change the registry entries to match.
-Yes, I forgot the colon after the CommPort value!
-One more restart and it worked!

Thanks a million!!! It's terrific to have a $60 puck and free software doing real-time navigation.

Hello friends,

Have you tried GPSWatch from www.gpswatcher.com. That product works flawlessly from my HTC Touch.

Though it is not a freeware, its much sophisticated than a maps application. It has maps, geocoding, live tracking, etc.

Yep, the devil is in the details here. My 3125 runs TT5Mobile plug-and-play. To get Google Maps and Windows Live Maps to use the GPS it seems my problem was in the incoming and outgoing port setup above. Setting up outgoing as Com6 and Incoming as Com7 got me working. I only had an Incoming port set and at Com6. Both Google and Live would just sit there trying to connect. No errors, just nothing. Do you find this valuable?
