Frozen start up screen
Jun 24 2007, 4:57 PM EDT
I've had my dash for all of 1 day now. I upgraded to Windows Mobile 6 with no problems. But I just turned the Dash off, and when I turn it back on, it freezes on the second T-mobile screen, right after the Windows Mobile Screen. I can't do anything at all. Has this happened to anyone else. Is there a fix? 14  out of 16 found this valuable. Do you?

I am on my second dash and it does the same thing, so did the first dash. So far I have not found a way to fix it. All I can say is complain to T-Mobile and hope they get enough complaints to do something about it. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

i had the same problem - it seem to be with the storage card - if you take the storage card out it will boot up and you can put it back in. - pain in the a## but it works. T-mobile had no record of the problem - no fix either. - Seem to be a problem with mobile 6 software. 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

I am having this same problem but taking out the storage card doesn't help. It gets to the second t-mobile screen, freezes for a few minutes, the reboots and does the same thing all over.

Try taking the SIM card out, boot it up, turn it off, replace the card, and turn it on again. this seems to work for me. 0  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Wow - obviously this bug is spreading. I've had my Dash about 3 months or so and all was good until about a month ago - no fix was permanent but for some reason about 2 weeks ago it fixed itself......or so I thought. Tonight it's doing it again so I'm back to looking for solutions for this and that darned alarm problem I also thought was fixed! HTC points to Tmobile who points to WM6. My friend bought his after I did and he doesn't have these problems (so far) but with so many people suffering with these glitches you would think someone would find a real cure. 4  out of 4 found this valuable. I'm on my third Dash. The problem is booting up with a storage card in place. T-Mobile doesn't acknowledge if this is a common problem. Has anyone found a fix? 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Happen to me today. Called t-mobile and rebotted system by holding down the (2) - - keys above the house and arrow while the phone is off. Then you continue to hold while you push the power button on the side for 2 seconds. Should go to white screen then black screen. once at black screen hit the green call button and follow the rest of the prompts. 9  out of 10 found this valuable. Do you?

Did this fix the problem? Will this reset all the settings?

Same thing. I press the storage card (2MB) so it comes half out, then turn the DASH on, when the second screen shows I wait until either a beep is heard or the first icon appears, then I press the storage card back in and close the case. It did not use to do that. And occasionally I turned the "silent" feature on and let it boot and re-boot all night and it is always on when I wake up. 0  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

THANK YOU SO MUCH, I REALLY LIKE MY DASH AND I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. IT HAD HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE BUT ALL I DID WAS TAKING THE SIM CARD OUT AND REBOOT IT AND WOULD WORK UNTIL THIS TIME I COULD HAVE NEVER DONE IT WITHOUT YOUR INFO. THANKS AGAIN !!!! I've got the same problem (boot-up redundancy; meaning 1. power on 2. static white screen [initially moving then stopping] 3. green screen 4. repeat.

After removing the md storage card, the sim card and then owering on, the Dash simply stays stuck on the white screen.

I've not attempted a hard reset as I don't know what data (photos, contacts, texts, etc.) will be lost. Since this does appear to be the only solution, can anybody tell me precisely WHAT info will be lost upon reset? What wil be retained on the sim card? Although the manual advises to back up date prior to reset, this information is obviously useless in light of the inability to boot up?

Thanks,

- Jeff
