HTC Universal
Apr 8 2007, 4:37 PM EDT Hi, I bought a htc univeral from a european company and love the device, but the band settings are wrong for the US, is there something I can do, or firmware I can get that will correct this. I am able to use it as a phone, but it drops calls very frequently..I have cingular and my other cingular phones dont drop the calls in the same place. Joel 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: HTC Universal
Jun 17 2007, 12:18 AM EDT I too have Cingular service with the Imate JasJar. Cingular broadcasts on 850 & 1900 MHz but the Jasjar can only receive a signal in 900 and 1800 MHz. This means that the JasJar can only process the 1800 MHz signal. Unfortunately, there are more 850 cell towers than 1900 towers. My signal is much spottier and weaker on the JasJar than on other phones that can receive 850 & 1800 signals. imate.com has a download that is specifically for Cingular users but I am not sure that it helps all that much. Do you find this valuable? |
