Dialing an Extension
Mar 27 2007, 6:12 AM EDT aving just converted from a Blackberry, I am having a problem with dialing phone extensions. I sync my contact database from ACT to the Windows Mobile 5 phone. When I dial a phone # I can select a contact , it dials the primary # but does not leave me any way to select the extension. the extension is listed next to the phone # i.e. (xxx)555-1212 x123, but when you dial it only dials the primary #. the Blackberry would pop up a menu to either skip the extension or dial it. Any help would be great, with over 12K contacts this one would really hurt. 1 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Dialing an Extension
Jun 27 2007, 7:35 PM EDT Use a P for a pause e.g.dial a number ppp142 - pause for a few seconds enough for it to ring and then pick up. you'll have to adjust the number of p's for the right pause length. 1 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Dialing an Extension
Dec 11 2007, 3:04 PM EST I have a P4000. I found that using a "p" was not helpful. However I did discover that using a comma "ex. 555-555-5555,123 worked. You'll have to adjust the number of commas to the number of rings until the line picks up. Therefore if number picks up after 4 rings, use 4 commas "ex. 555-555-5555,,,,123. Worked for me. 0 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Dialing an Extension
May 31 2008, 2:04 PM EDT I have the HTC Touch and tried using both approaches: (1) the 'p' character, and also (2) the comma symbol, but neither approaches work with my device. My device will not accept the comma sysmbol -- it actually automatically discards this symbol as a data character whenever I save it to the contact's phone number data field. The device also doesn't recognize the 'p' character and continues to wait for further manual input of the phone extension. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
