Is it possible to use the wi-fi feature for free on a home network? Or, for instance, at an airport or in school? 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

With this device, you can use WiFi, whether it is free or if you have to subscribe. as long as it is WiFI, if you have a home WiFi netowrk, you can use that too. When the WiFi is turned on in your device, it will show you what connections are available.

You may also need software such as Skype which allows phone calls using WiFi (VOIP). Do you find this valuable?

heh. Man, just yesterday I had a funny conversation with some dude from the T-mob's 611 . I couldn't get my wifi to work. What I mean is, I was getting a status message in the Wifi config screen "driver not loaded." So I try a hard reset, which didn't take. So I call the T-mob, and when speaking the the tech, I am pleasant and I am very clear about what the problem is. The tech keeps hammering away at me with some nonsense about how my router has to be a class B. I keep trying to tell him that dude, (i didn't say dude btw) I can't even detect any router whatsoever because I cannot start the damn wifi on my device. (Nor did I say damn, nor did I express frustration while on the phone. Those big old tape reels are turning all the time.) So anyway, I get bounced around from dept. to dept, at one point am told I can't get any tech help because every router is different. I keep saying, I don't have a router problem. Error is On my DASH. IT says, WIFI DRIVER NOT LOADED. Then I am told I have to buy the outlandish data plan to use wifi. I reply that i understand that I need to do so in order to enjoy unlimited wifi access at T-mob hotspots, but I was unaware the T-mob req'd $ to start an application on my device. They are earning their name, yo. Again I am on hold, when finally after a total call length of 40 min. and a final hold of about 8, one of the 1st guys I talked to tells me that You can't just go loading and unloading drivers on the dash, and I'll have to do a hard reset. First of all, I don't get how I can unload the driver and be barred from loading it again, without a reset. Well, I did the hard reset, and this timer it worked. I have my Wifi back. I use the free WIFI at my local public library, which is all I wanted to do in the first place. What I learned from all this is 1) The first tiem the reset may have failed due to inadvertent button pushing or the SIM card not being in the phone or 2) the glue had come off 2 contacts the 1st time. I just bought a dash off ebay. It had wm5. I upgraded it to wm6 using the update available on tmobiles website. Everything works fine except that I get the same error "Driver not loaded" when i try turning on the Wifi.
I have tried hard-reset many times but it doesn't seem to work. I don't know what to do!

Works on my Tmbile Dash. I use it at home, Panerra's and other places that have open access to WIFI. I put MAC Address security at home on my router and it works, when using WPA or some other security WIFI it did not work right. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
