Deleted device from computer, now can't find ringtones on device

There was an issue wtih a file that could not be synchronized to my tilt 2 so, perhaps, unwisely, I deleted my device and tried to synch with my files again. Didn't work. Guess I'll have to find whatever file is cuasing the problem for me to ever be able to install new apps? Anyway, after deleting my device and reconnecting, the tones are still on my micro sd card and are still assinged to the contacts that I put them with, they don't play anymore. All my contacts get the original default tone and when I go and search for my custom tones, they're no longer searchable. Where do I need to save tehm to in order for them to once again be added to my phonebook contacts. Thanks and sorry and for these silly questions>

Nevermind. I just created a new "My ringtones" folder inside my device's "documents" folder and it works ag ain. Stil am not srue what file it is that can't be synched but I guess I won't worry about i, assuming it won't aeffect future app installations.
