HTC Touch Pro keeps deleting text messages

Im not sure what the problem is.. or if its built into the phone.. but it keeps deleting all my text messages. sometimes it gets near to about 4000 and then it deleted them all without warning. Recently it cleared of ALL my messaging accounts... the built in hotmail, gmail, all my text messages, and sprint picture mail. i got sum back.. still cant get the picture mail. but now its been deleting my text messages randomly. and it seems to just choose which 1s it clears out and doesnt send them to the trash can. anyone have this problem?? or know how to avoid/prevent it
