Bluetooth Headset connection problems after hero rom update
Sep 24 2009, 7:40 AM EDT
I have been using my HTC hero with a stereo bluetooth headset (motorola S9) and not had any issues since it release on Orange in the UK until the newly released rom update ( build version 2.73.61.5 ) Now when I turn on the phones bluetooth and power up the head set I only get a connection to the Phones Audio and not Phone and Media Audio, to get a connection to both Phone and Media audio i have to unpair the headset and then pair and connect to get the correct setting.I am hoping it is just something that i am doing wrong and not due to the update it's self. all answers welcome. Hi,I have the same problem. My S9 headphones worked like a charm before ROM update. Now I can't connect. Even stranger behavior is... when you realize that phone is not connecting to your headset and you turn off headphones. HTC Hero keeps saying "Connecting..." in bluetooth settings. Weird! And he never says connection failed. You actually need to turn off bluetooth and than back on in order to get it working again. Do you find this valuable? |

Just to add another voice to the list. My problems are exactly as described above, except I'm using a Jabra SP700.

I've fixed my issue. All you need to do is to reset your headphones to factory settings. After that everything worked like charm again.

Cool MeanEYE, thanks 4 update, but my headset don't seam to have a reset function, and due to it already knowing the MAC address of phone it don't ask for passcode and still pairs up, I think is why I'm still having this issue.Do you find this valuable? |

Likewise. Mine was fresh out of the box and I'm not asked for a passcode despite the instructions saying I should... Thanks for the info though.

They ALL should have reset. Only it's not obvious. For my Motorola it was to turn on headphones plugin a charger and after 5 seconds pull it out. I've busted my ass for finding that info online. There is possibility that your headphones don't have that option but it's highly unlikely. Problems like these are schoolbook examples why there are options like factory reset.
