"all you need to do is go into sounds and notifications under settings"
That may be an option in Sounds and Notifications on the TP2, but that option doesn't work on the Touch Pro (aka AT&T Fuze). On those devices it takes a registry edit or loading Advanced Config. 3.3 to toggle the sound it makes when a text is sent (either on or off). If the change in Sounds and Notifications works, post back to confirm that. If it doesn't, post back and I will post the reg. edit and more info on Advanced Config.

If you got it to work without a reg edit or without loading AC3.3. It means they actually fixed that problem in the ROM of the TP2 that has been bugging us with the TPs for over a year. Great News!

If you're looking to disable the annoying "ding" pop-up that occurs when you SEND a text message, then check out this thread:

There are two ways to do it for sure. If you are VERY confident in your ability to edit the registry, go to: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSNoSentMSG and change the DWORD value from 0 to 1 to turn off the "dink" sound. DON'T DO THIS UNLESS YOU ARE EXPERIENCED AT REGISTRY EDITS - YOU CAN "BRICK" YOUR PHONE IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE.

A safer way to edit the registry without doing a reg. edit is to load Advanced Config 3.3. Read the Advanced Configuration page on this Wiki and it will give you all the info you need to download and install Advanced Config. When you have it loaded you can go to the SMS section and turn on (or off) the notification tone for text messages. You can also do many other tweaks that HTC and Microsoft forgot or intentionally omitted in the ROM.
