Setting Outlook sync schedule without Direct Push enabled?
Sep 16 2009, 3:06 PM EDT | Post edited: Sep 16 2009, 3:06 PM EDT
I just upgraded from an HTC Mogul to a sexy, new HTC Touch Pro2. So far, I love the thing. One mystery I've yet to solve is how to define an ActiveSync schedule for Outlook. I can enable Microsoft Direct Push, which gives me near real-time download of my e-mail, but I'd rather tone it down a notch, and set up an hourly or 4-hourly schedule for checking mail on the weekends. All other types of e-mail accounts (eg. Gmail, SMTP/POP, Hotmail, etc.) have schedule settings, but I can't find anywhere to set a download schedule for Outlook mail.

Oddly, my Mogul is running the same OS version (WM 6.1 Pro) as the TP2, and the Mogul allows for scheduled synchronization of Outlook e-mail. It's very possible that the shmancy TouchFLO 3D UI is hiding the setting from me in plain sight. Has anyone found a way to set up a non-Direct Push schedule for Outlook?

Thanks!

- Dave

Go to Start> Programs > ActiveSync > Menu > Schedule to adjust the sync status in Peak time and Off-peak time.

You should be able to change the Direct Push settings there :)

THANK YOU! It's so totally obvious, once you pointed it out. Up until now, I didn't even notice the ActiveSync icon in the Programs menu.
