HTC Touch Pro 2 - Manual email choice POP/IMAP??

I just received my TP2 & in setting up my email accounts, I notice there is a default to set up AOL & Gmail accounts via IMAP, I prefer POP personally as I use Microsoft Entourage on my computer to receive mail & my computer is always on. Once the mail picks up from Entourage, using IMAP on the phone, the mails show up as 'read' already....I can't distinguish which mails are new or old at that point. Using POP, the mails always came in as new whether or not my computer picked up the mail from the servers. SO.....how do I override the automatic setting on the TP2 so I can set my mail up using POP? It defaults every time to IMAP whereas my older HTC T-Mobile Wing (Windows Mobile 5.0) gave the choice for every email setup whether you wanted to do it manually or not.

Someone PLEASE help, T-Mobile had no clue, I don't know who at HTC I can ask!! Do you find this valuable?
