Bluetooth PAN with Mac OSX and HTC Touch Pro 2

Hi,

I just got a shiny new HTC Touch Pro2 (TP2). However I am unable to get the bluetooth PAN (for internet sharing) working with Mac OS X. I paired the devices and while Mac OS X shows the option "use this device as a network port", it doesn't seem to work, as the "connect to network" option is not shown for the TP2. When I try to set up the PAN from the TP2 using the network manager, I always get "The device you are trying to connect to does not support bluetooth PAN". This is of course wrong as my MacBook supports BT PAN very well. I have a working BT PAN with an XDA Orbit 2 (Branded HTC Touch Cruise) on that same MacBook and it works very well. I already called the support, but apart from hard resetting they had no idea on how to make this work. Hard resetting didn't change a thing though. Has anyone a working BT PAN between Mac OS X and the TP2?

Best regards,
Jan

I too have a working bluetooth pan between my iMac and my Tilt, unfortunately the/my Touch Pro II will not be available in the US until fall, so I have no way to test your problem. But I will follow this thread with interest for answers.

i fixed it by going to bluetooth preferences, i chose my phone and then clicked advanced. i clicked the share my internet connection wit h other bluetooth devices box, i know that this is not what you want. but when choosing this it adds an Bluetooth Pan connection to your network settings. when you try to connect bluetooth sharing from your phone again it works now :) Do you find this valuable?

Well, it works here too, but only until after the next restart of Mac OS X. I found out that you can consistently make this work by issuing the command:

sudo killall -HUP blued

and ticking said checkbox of yours after every reboot. It's not as user-friendly as one is used to, but it seems to work here.
