HTC Fuze Ringtone Problem
Jun 25 2009, 2:59 PM EDT
I have a custom MP3 set as my rigntone for new textmessages. My problem though is that the song continues to play even after i have read the text? It plays until the ringtone is over, which is very annoying. Most phones will play the file until the text has been opened or read, this is not the case on my Fuze. Can anyone help or offer suggestions? Thanks!

Try converting the MP3 file to a .wav file and it should work as you expect it to. On the Fuze the max size for ringtones is 600K and it seems that alert tones work best at 300K max., although I have heard of 400K tones working OK. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I have a 30 second wav file set as my alert tone, and it still is playing until all 30 seconds are over. Very annoying! Any further suggestions? Thanks. Do you find this valuable? |

That is the way it works and can't be changed. It was kind of annoying to me on my Tilt also, until I mapped one of my buttons to the system vol. , now I just turn it down until it stops.

"Hmm, still not working. I have a 30 second wav file set as my alert tone, and it still is playing until all 30 seconds are over. Very annoying! Any further suggestions? Thanks."You can enable face down muting by the following reg edit. Change both registry keys from a value of 0 to a value of 1 HKLM-Software-HTC-HTCSensor-GSensor-Phonecallmute HKLM-Software-HTC-Phone-facedownmute. The phone will go silent when you turn it face down. This is an alternative to remapping the PTT to silence the volume. You can decide which is easier for you. Remember to back up the device before doing reg edits. If you have a problem, you can always do a hard reset and a full backup to return to where you were. Do you find this valuable? |

"hi i have another ringtone problemAre you trying to set an mp3 as a ringtone or an alert tone? On the Fuze, ringtones are limited to 600K (and work better at 500K) in size. Alert tones (text message announcements, etc.) need to be .wav format (not mp3) and must be 200K or smaller. Does the tone you are trying to use show up in the tones list? If it shows up in the list, it should work. If you are trying to use the same tones that worked with the old ROM and they aren't working in the new ROM it is possible they changed the folder where the tones are stored. I recall denco7 had a recent post regarding tone folders. Search this Wiki for that info. If you can't find it, PM denco7 - he may be able to give you that info. Do you find this valuable? |

"Sqarrela, the tones are on my list. but when i click on them. says there not avail..and to re download the songs."Are you talking about ringtones or alert tones? They are very different on these HTC phones. Ringtone files must be smaller than 600K in size and can be mp3, .wav etc. Alert tone files (for text message announcements, etc.) need to be .wav format (only) and must be 200K or smaller - they can not be mp3. If they are not available on your device, you either have them in the wrong format, or are storing them in the wrong folder. Do you find this valuable? |

"How do I convert ring tones to wav? I'm having issues as well."you need audio converter software to convert mp3 to wav format. I use AVS suite. You can find it at: http://www.avs4you.com/?utm_medium=Navigator&utm_source=Navigator&utm_content=Main&utm_campaign= you can either download the specific program you need for a small fee, or pay a one time fee and have access to all their software (including updates) forever. I think I paid about $60 two years ago and have downloaded audio converter, audio editor, ringtone maker (which allows you to shorten audio tracks and convert them to ringtones or alert tones). I also use their video editing software. Do you find this valuable? |
