60. Upgrade with 3rd party software installed.
Jun 19 2009, 12:19 PM EDT
| Post edited: Jun 19 2009, 12:28 PM EDT
Is there a way to do the upgrade without losing all your previously installed 3rd party software, your email settings, etc. I understand that when the upgrade is done it resets the Fuze back to hard reset state. What backup software will backup both the programs and the data files and then reinstall them?

"The "official" word from HTC is a 600K limit, but the "official" word from them is the Fuze does everything they advertise it does ... we know how true that is. It could be a bitrate issue. 192Kbps is higher than you need for ringtones, etc. I would try scaling them down to see what happens."I have not worked with music that much. How to you make the file size smaller? Thanks Do you find this valuable? |

"I have not worked with music that much. How to you make the file size smaller? Thanks"Try AVS Audio Editor or AVS Ringtone Maker. Either one will let you select what parts of an audio track you want for a ringtone. AVS also has an Audio Converter if you want to convert mp3 files to .wav (which is the preferred format for sounds, especially notification and alarm sounds). Do you find this valuable? |

I too downloaded ringtones and can't even find them listed when I go to my ringtones to select one. I guess it is because of the size from what everyone is saying. How do I downsize them?

"You are very welcome!"Didn't the voice command feature work before this upgrade? I use mine all the time, unless we're talking about 2 different things? Do you find this valuable? |

"Didn't the voice command feature work before this upgrade? I use mine all the time, unless we're talking about 2 different things?"Voice Command worked with a few big problems in the old ROM (there was a conflict between VC and the Bluetooth stack that prevented duplex communication with a BT headset on some devices). The updated ROM fixed that problem. Do you find this valuable? |

Has anyone used the FM radio in the new release? I can't seem to find it. I had downloaded it from another website and installed it using the old ROM. I can reinstall it but it states this should be installed with the new ROM. Maybe the ATT software took it out.

Don't worry my friend - it's with ATT and it's also with the new ROM and also the 6.5 ROMs if you wish to try any of them - all located in the same place. Just check your multimedia folder/program group. Be sure to remember that according to specs, the application will not engage unless you have a wired headset connected. (This is because the wire in the headset does double duty as the antenna.) Have fun!! :)

Receiver is not the most senstive either but it works in a pinch. Do you find this valuable? |

"Thanks, never looked there. I have used it before and don't like the antenna part but you do need it. I had it when I bought my new car and I can tell you that it's extremely addictive - just like the AT&T Navigator app. However, just like Navigator, AT&T wants you to pay 9.99/month for the service. I'm just about at the point where I'm beginning to consider it. However, when I upped my ROM to 6.5, that app wasn't present. If anyone knows how I can go about re-adding it, I'm all ears and extremely grateful in advance. I'll just jack my phone into the auxiliary jack of my car radio and bang, I get my XM back. Although, I'll have to fight with the Mrs. for a while about getting it - even though she loves the music too *LOL*. Do you find this valuable? |

It also fixed my constant Active Sync problem. For some reason it was always on. AS I write this I just noticed that I no longer have the ability to edit "Media Net" under settings-> connections.

I've downloaded the update and now my Windows Update will not connect. I've verified my wi-fi is functioning. Any ideas?

75. can't set up my hotmail to come directly to phone
Jun 30 2009, 6:08 PM EDT
"Sprite Backup is already installed in WM6.1 you can backup anything you select when you setup the backup."I installed the ROM upgrade and am very pleased with it for the most part. When I did my backup I was told to uncheck settings in the Sprite back up, so my email settings were not saved. My outlook email came back perfectly. But my hotmail was set up to come directly to my devcie with a POP 3 set up. After the upgrdae that email account was missing. When I go to messaging and try to set it up as a new email account it won't do it. Please help, this is my primary email account. Do you find this valuable? |

"That is interesting. I have not had that issue either before or after the ROM installation.Have you tried a hard reset? Could it be that a third party app is causing this to happen?"I have this same problem and It's killing my battery power before the end of the day. I hat having to check after EVERY call to disconnect EDGE. What can I do...... Do you find this valuable? |

"You (or someone) provided this information earlier and it works great - although their user instructions for me were a little weak, but I figured it out."I know what you mean about their users instructions. I played around with some of their apps for a little while until I figured them out. I subscribed to their unlimited for life deal for $59.95 and it lets you download all their apps forever. When I started using their software they had an audio editor that worked with all kinds of files but had a steep learning curve. Later they came out with the Ringtone maker, it did the same things as the audio editor, but was much more user friendly. I could also download that at no additional cost under the unlimited deal. I'm really pleased with their programs. Do you find this valuable? |
