i have a tmobile wing under 2 year contract
i sent them my imei number and they couldnt find it in there database where the keep the unlock codes
the do reconise the imei number as my phone
i contacted htc they told me all phones are sent out unlock with a lock/unlock code
then t-moble is responsible for locking the phone and keeping the unlock codes
since t-moble provides unlock codes as a sevice if the messup by entering a wrong imei number with your unlock code in there database your out of luck.
they told me to by another phone
I really need to unlock this phone anyone know how
Do you find this valuable?

Generally providers will not give you the unlock code. If you are under a two year contract to t_mobile what good is being sim unlocked. ?

There are companies that will unlock your phone for $$$

Well folks, let me tell you that what you need to do is call T-Mobile Customer Care and then ask them to transfer you to the PDA Department. There you'll ask them for a "SIM Subsidy Unlock" and they will create the order for you. So.. if they have the number, it will take around 7 days and you'll receive the unlock code with the instructions, if not it can take up to 21 days, since they contact the manufacturer (HTC). They'll ask you if you want the instructions by e-mail or SMS.
What can happen is that you are still not eligible for this (taking tenure and account status into account), but if you ask them, they'll tell what do you need to be eligible and how long it is going to take.

Good luck Jamm and enjoy your Wing!
