Dash internal antenna not reconized -not working limited or no service

My LCD screen recently failed and while I was trying to figure out how to perform a hard reset, I stuck a paperclip into the external antenna jack (thinking that it was actually a reset button). Anyway, I now know about the external antenna jack and I have replaced my LCD screen, but now my phone hardly picks up any signal. I have read numerous forums and blogs and have discovered others who also have this problem but I have yet to learn any way to rectify the problem. How do I get the Dash to revert back to the internal antenna and stop using the external antenna jack? Do you find this valuable?
