"hey, i appreciate you looking into my issues. the problem with changing the "file as" name, is that i have contact info for a lot of cvs's (which i actually use all of them a lot) and there are multiple ones that i go to or call in the same town. also some are 24hrs and some aren't, so it really helps me to have it named how it is, so i can figure out which im trying to call at a glance. i just wish that the fuze had the same program the tilt does, where you select a contact and number and then record your voice to say what you want for that specific number. and that's all you have to say into the bluetooth to get it to dial that number. now you have to say the entire contact name, as well as which number it is (mobile, home, work, etc).

i did just update the rom now, so i haven't really tried it out yet, but according to the microsoft tutorial, nothing has changed. do you know if there's a voice speed dial program that i could download and add on to the fuze? it is listed as a program under tools on the tilt, so i thought maybe I could find something like it to add?

also, if you were able to find anything out about the predictive text, please let me know. that is a huge issue that's holding me back from using the fuze. thanks again for everything! your suggestions have been a huge help!"
The old Voice program in WM6.0 where you recorded the name in your own voice had it's advantages. The solution to yout Voice Command issue is "Nicknames". If you go into your contacts in Outlook and open a contact and look at the "All Fields" tab, where it says "Select From" pick "Name Fields" go down to "Nicknames" and add a one word name that identifies the specific contact. If it's the cvs on wilshire blvd you may want to just nickname it "wilshire" Then when you want to call it using Voice Command its "Call wilshire at work"

"I forgot one thing. I really hate the layout of the phone on the fuze. the tilt has a lot more on the actual than the fuze. and while you can access most of the items through the menu on the fuze, i really liked them on the screen. things like the speed dial, call history, and the talk button. the other thing i didn't like about the fuze's phone is that when you start to dial a number it only lists 2 numbers, either from your contacts or call history, and the tilt shows 5. i know these are all stupid little things that I would most likely get used to in time, it's just that they do bother me, and i have used them so much on the tilt that i dont really want to give them up. i just don't get why they would remove all of these things; they're supposed to be upgrading the phone, not downgrading it. anyway, i was wondering if you knew if the spb mobile shell is able to change anything other than the home screen, like the phone? or if there are any other programs that are able to change the phone. i'm sorry for all of the questions, it's just that you seem to be a genius when it comes to this stuff -- you know like everything there is to know. either way, i really appreciate you being so patient and helpful."
Mobile Shell 3.0.1 is a real lifesaver for me. I find TouchFlo3D to be clunky and not very user friendly. MS3 allows you to completely customize the phone, not just the Today Screen. You can create your own shortcut pages and put the icons you use most on those pages. Look at my profile for screen shots of how my Tilt is set up with MS3. It also gives you an extended Today Screen meaning you can set up three pages that are one "flick jesture" to get to from the Today Screen. When you're looking at the Today Screen you flick your thumb vertically on the screen (either up or down) and it takes you to a page that you can fill with all the icons you use most. You can then flick left or right for 2 more pages of icons

"i meant to type "on the actual screen than the fuze," not "on the actual than the fuze.""
continuation of the Mobile Shell comments. MS lets you set up a Launcher soft key at the bottom of the Today Screen that take you to a screen full of shortcuts. You should check out my profile and the Spb website for info. Download a free demo - I think you'll really like it. You can set up the phone to look the way you want it and to support the way you use it.

Ok, I know I'm being really like knit picky, but the other issue i have with the ms voice command is that I have no idea where I put the numbers. Sometimes i use the work number, sometimes home, and for some people i have every spot filled with old and new numbers. So i honestly have no idea if it's work or home or mobile, and you have to say that. But that is a good idea about the nicknames, I never thought about that.

I was able to find a copy of the cyberon voice speed dialing but there were some things i didn't understand. I saw other people talking about it and what they said was "Cyberon Voice Speed Dialer v1.2_build_61226, Install cab then import the registry settings." I know how to install a cab file, but I have no idea what the registry settings are, where to find them, or how to import them. Plus I was concerned that since I still have ms voice command, when i hit the button on my bluetooth to say a name, which program will it use? Like how will the cyberon program work if i still have voice command. Or would I have to uninstall it? And if I uninstall it, and the cyberon file is too old of a version and isn't working, can I reinstall the voice command with the same version that i have now? haha sorry about so many questions.

I've already downloaded the trial of MS3 a few days ago. It makes a HUGE difference having everything at your fingertips, and not having to go through the start menu -->programs-->tools-->camera, etc.. I'm not sure I want to pay $30 since I had just purchased another program that was $20, but I have a feeling I will bc it really helps so much. I read something you posted that you can save your settings online. How do you do that?

Also, were you able to find anything out about the predictive text? Either way, you have been a HUGE help. I seriously would have like thrown my phone out the window if it wasn't for you, so thank you soooo much!

You're very welcome. Mobile Shell 3.0 allows you to backup your Mobile Shell settings to the storage card on the device, so that once you get the various "widgets" and pages set up the way you want them, even if you have a major problem and have to reload the Mobile Shell program you can access the backed up settings so you don't have to start from scratch.

I'm still working on the predictive text issues. I have the predictive text working on my Tilt when I use the touch screen keyboard, but when I use the slide out keyboard, it gives me text suggestions in a font/language that I don't understand - I'll let you know what I figure out.

If you don't know which number you want to dial for a contact, instead of saying "Call Fred Smith at work", say "Show Fred Smith". It will bring up the contact and let you select the number you want.

If you load Cyberon Voice Dial, you will have to do a registry edit to tell the device to look for the cyberon executable file when you push the button on your bluetooth headset. Otherwise it will default to Voice Command. I would have to know the name of the cyberon file to give you the reg. edit, plus you need a registry editor program and you have to know how to do a reg edit - you can "brick" your phone if you make a mistake with a registry edit.
