Trouble Sending or Replying to Text Messages

When replying or sending text messages, I get the error message, "Your text message cannot be sent." (with the yellow triangle icon with exclamation mark inside). When I click the ok, the message at the bottom of the screen says "Error Synchonizing." I have contacted HTC technical support and they have no idea what the problem is and stated that I should contact my phone carrier. My phone carrier (AT&T) stated that since the advantage is not one of the HTC phones that they carry, they don't have any support documentation. They also stated that the phone settings appear to be correct to send and receive texts. Nevertheless, I can only receive and not send texts. This has not always been the case. Desparately need help!!! Do you find this valuable?
