16 GB MicroSDHC Storage Cards Work Fine on the Mogul
Mar 12 2009, 12:02 AM EDT
I recently purchased a Sandisk 16 Gb MicroSDHC storage card for my SprintPCS HTC Mogul and wanted to let everyone know that it's working perfectly, so far.Over the last few months, I've called HTC Tech Support periodically to see if they had verified whether a 16 Gb storage card would work with the Mogul The answer was always the same: HTC had only tested cards up to 8 Gb and that until they "...got their hands on a 16 Gb card..." they couldn't confirm it's compatibility. Well, when I got my 16 gig card, I first tested it on my laptop and confirmed that "Properties" displayed capacity over 15 Gb. I then plugged it into my Mogul and verified thru the path "Settings">"System">"Memory">"Storage Card" that the Mogul recognized over 15 gigs of available capacity. I've subesequently moved nearly 3 gigs of MP3 tracks onto it, and it's working like a champ. I just wanted everyone to know that, from my experience, the Mogul and 16 Gb storage cards are a "go". Of course, as with all things technical, 'Your results may vary...' Still, at a current 'best bottom line price' of $49.99, 16 Gb MicroSDHC cards are a great way to store tons of MP3 audio tracks and large video files for use on your Mogul Now if we could just find a solution to playing YouTube videos on the Mogul, all of us dedicated Mogul Geeks would be living larger than large. (what's the big deal about iPhones, anyway?!) :-) 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Although I have PCs networked and accessible using my Mogul, is nice to be able to take more than 2 GB of data. If I am not mistaken the User's Manual said it only supports a 2 GB Card. Now that you mentioned that it works with cards over 2 GB. I will try the 32 GB. Will update then. Thanks for posting it.

I know have seen them but, I can't remember where (did not bookmark the page) . I will update. rbibeau wanted to know if there was a solution to play YouTube videos, and there is, on your Mogul go to www.youtube.com there is a link to download a YouTube app. (what's the big deal about iPhones, anyway?!) :-) The only thing I like about iPhone is the screen and nothing else. The iPhone is a smart phone. The Mogul is not, it is a Pocket PC. The iphone will eventually turn into a Pocket PC, just watch. Do you find this valuable? |

I've been able to watch youtube on my Touch for a long time now with TCPMP. I can even record the videos to my memory card with it.

I purchased a 16GB micro for my G1 phone and T-Mobile said that the KINGSTON was the ONLY one that would work properly on this phone and sure enough. I love it. I purchased it direct from the kingston.com website and had it in a few days. I can put so much on this hone it's unbelievable. I love it.

I just got around to reading this! Thanks JcTh... the Youtube App I d/l ed to my Mogul works great! Also: To date, SanDisk has not released the rumored 32GB MicroSDHC card. There is a 32GB SD card, but nothing yet in the MicroSDHC form factor. The 32GB MicroSDHC will be the last in the Micro SDHC line. Sandisk has announced a new line "SD Extended Capacity" (SDXC) which will be capable of up to 2TB of capacity. Wow! Do you find this valuable? |
