HTC ATHENA/ADVANTAGE/x7500/T-Mobile Ameo HELP ! HELP! HELP!

I'm trying to connect my t mobile ameo with a stereo bluetooth headset, and every time I scan for new devices it gives me an error stating "PROBLEM WITH BLUETOOTH HARDWARE"
Additionally, the "Turn on Bluetooth" option always turns off automatically.......
