Proxy Setting Changes between email and web

I'm wondering if anyone has found a solution to this very annoying problem.

For web browsing I need to use a proxy and enter it in the "Connections" setup.
If I want to check emails, the proxy doesn't work so I need to go to Setup and uncheck the proxy option.

Is there a way of allowing my Australian Touch Dual (Telstra) to use two different network access types; one with proxy selected for web browsing and a completely seperate connection with no proxy selected for checking emails?

All of the solutions on the web just identify how to select and de-select the proxy server - not automatically connect with or without it!
