Disabling the SMS Sent Notification
Feb 3 2009, 4:54 PM EST | Post edited: Feb 3 2009, 4:54 PM EST
I'd like to get rid of this pesky alert, I know I sent the text, I just pushed send! I don't need reminding. :) But I found this command in the hacks and tweaks section, but I'm not sure how to go about doing this.

Disable SMS Sent Notification
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSNoSentMsg"=dword:00000001 ->0 to enable, 1 to disable.

Could someone shed some light for meh? :)

First you are going to need a registry editor installed on your device. Look for something like RegEdit (there are quite a few otpions out there). I use SOTI Pocket Controller Pro (screenshot capture software) which has a built in Registry Editor.
Once you have the editor installed, open it on your device and you will see a few folders.
First open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Then open the Software SubFolder.
Next open the Microsoft subFolder.
Open the Inbox Folder.
Open the Settings Folder.
Locate the SMSNoSentMsg"=dword:00000001 -> and change the value 0 to enable, 1 to disable

Also Advanced Config has a setting for that ,if you don't feel comfortable mucking around in your registry.

I'll consider the reg edit app, It would probably be handy for way more than this too.

but denco, sorry for my lack of knowledge, I just got this bad boy yesterday, how exactly do I navigate to the advanced config?

Advanced_Configuration_Tool_v3.3 is a 3rd party applciation found on www.xda-developers.com; you install and run the app on your device to make the changes you want.

Hi,

This can be simply disabled by perfomring the following steps in HTC Diamond:
- go to Message Tab
- Select All Messages
- Click on Menu on lower right corner
- click on Tools > Options
- Tap on the SMS\MMS Tab > check or uncheck the Request Delivery Notifications

I hope this helps

Cheers!

From Post #6 below, it appears that the ROM in the Diamond is set up to make the changes you want within the OS. Please post which device you have and what version of Windows Mobile you are running. With that information, we can help you with this problem. There are different solutions with different devices and different OS.

Not sure if you can disable it, but you don't have to do anything to the notification -- it goes away after a couple seconds...

Hi i was looking for a way to disable the message you get after sending a txt message... I send around 4,000 messages a month so after the first couple of hundred it gets annoying... I have tried some registry tweaks to no success... Any suggestions?

When I open my Options, and tap text messaging in the accounts tab, my only option is request delivery notification or always send a callback number.

Please post the device you are using and the operating system. Older phones like my Tilt and Fuze (aka Touch Pro) require the reg. edit described in Post #1 above to turn off the alert that occurs when you send a text. If you aren't experienced in registry edits, you can also load Advanced Configuration 3.3 which allows you to turn this on or off without doing a reg. edit. (AC3.3 does the reg edit for you). There is a page on this Wiki that gives detailed instructions for downloading and installing AC3.3.

From posts I've seen here, it seems that some of the newer phones have this option built in to the OS. It depends on what you have.
