Downgrade from Windows Mobile 6.1

I have had nothing but grief since I installed Windows Mobile6.1.

The biggest problem is it won't sync properly to 2 computers, I get the Error on desktop message 086000107 also programs malfunction and lock up. How can I get rid of this "upgrade"? Will a hard reset put me back to WM 6.0?

I am not interested in why this happens or how to fix it, I just need a phone that works!

There is no HTC approved way. Covered here.

A Hard Reset wont revert you back to WM6 as it was written over with WM 6.1.
You can try www.xda-developers.com to see if there is a cooked ROM out there that will let you downgrade to WM 6.0.

You can down grade to OEM 6.0 or a custom 6.0, but you have to security unlock your phone, flash it with a new Hardspl and then reflash the rom with an original HTC 6.0 rom or you will have to scrape up an old cooked 6.0 rom ( there aren't too many left.) It is easy to do, but there is a slight risk it could brick your phone, and of course it is unapproved by HTC and will void any warranties. Try a hard reset of your phone, see if that cures anything. If you want to go the unlock and reflash route, I will lead you in the right direction.

Thanks for your kind offer!
It seeems too risky, technical and time consuming for me. You may laugh, but I actually bought this phone to save me time, not as a hobby where I could waste endless hours trying to fix other peoples mistakes.

I have abanoned syncing with my laptop.

I run a large organisation, I will keep our Microsoft spend to a minimum, thats all I can do.

But I do appreciate your kind offer!

Take backup of your handset. Prefereably take out the SIM and memory card after switching it off.
Go to http://www.htc.com/
Select your location.(very important). Your handset is registered to that location.
Go to Support
Select your handset model.
Select ROM update. Dont worry it will not upgrade rather downgrade to 6.0.
It will ask for your handset serial number. Remove the battery and get the serial number.
Select option for language preference.(if it is in United arab emirates it should be AR)
Download the update.
Connect the handset to computer(Windows XP Sp3) with active sync 4.5.
Run the update. it takes 15 minutes.
Complete the update.
Handset will reset automatically.
Enjoy.......
