mobile sync not working with htc touch diamond

my mobile sync connection with USB connection worked fine up until 2 days ago. Can't get my htc touch diamond to be a recognized connection on my computer to sync info. It makes the sound like it is connected, but then says it is not connected on the screen. Tried all that is listed in the mobile sync help screen and it still doesn't work...help! Do you find this valuable?

Are you using Windows Mobile Device Center? If so I experienced the same issue post-ROM flash. The solution is to open WMDC and "start over" as if your Diamond were new. Once you go through the setup / configuration wizard you shoul be good to go.

Thank you! It worked...I cancelled my partnership and reinstalled it and now it is working again. I use Comcast as my e-mail account and my e-mails never automatically come through. I have to sync (hit send/receive) for it to connect and find new messages...does your phone also do that? If so, any suggestions on how to fix that? I brought it to Sprint (my carrier) and they told me they couldn't find a problem on their end...maybe it is comcast issue?? Do you find this valuable?

do you have the device set to check mail every XX minutes? go into your inbox on your phone, tap Menu > Tools > Options then tap on the comcast email account. you should see an option for Send/Receive Schedule. Do you find this valuable?

Yes...I have it set at every 10 minutes and it still doesn't automatically check for me. I am guessing it is a comcast issue?? Sprint told me that these phones really don't work well with cable e-mail connections such as Comcast. Instead I need gmail, yahoo, etc. I think that is crazy that I have to change my e-mail or have it forwarded for this phone. Sprint told me at first that comcast was fine, but now they say not...not sure what to do now. Any suggestions? Do you find this valuable?

i have comcast as well, haven't had a problem so far (knock on wood!) on my diamond and now my touch pro. my gmail works great as well. try changing it to every 5 minutes and leave it like that for awhile. make sure the outlook on your PC is closed. send yourself an email from the phone and see what happens. Do you find this valuable?

ok...thanks. I will try to change it to every 5 minutes. I didn't realize having Outook closed on my PC is what I should be doing. Maybe that is my problem. Thanks...I'll keep you posted. Do you find this valuable?
