whenever I'm sharing internet with my pc, wheter it be USB or bluetooth or even Wifi (WMWifiRouter) the phone will not charge the battery. I have tried both with it connected to the pc and to the charger still at some point it beeps saying main battery is low and shutsdown if I don't disconnect. Do you find this valuable?

Check your USB charging settings under Start>Settings>System Tab>Power>Battery Tab. Make sure that that check box for "When device is turned on, do not charge the battery when connected to a PC" is not checked.

I have checked that that setting is not on, so it's not that. Do you find this valuable?

I have the same problem and I am told that this is the way the phone is programmed. I am told there is nothing that can be done to fix this or overcome the problem. It didn't make sense to me that while using the internet sharing program, it would drain the battery. It's very frustrating to me. Good luck. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I'm currently running off my Tilt and all is well. This is a tad obvious but I assume when you say your battery (on the Tilt) is not being charged its when your laptop is not plugged in. I didn't change any other settings and while plugged in my Tilt is charging just fine. I only use it while on the road and at my hotel. The "complimentary" connection here is miserable. So if you're somewhere stationary and can plug your laptop in your battery will remain charging. Also, this connection flies (on 3G) in comparision to what the hotel offers. Don't forget to disable your wi-fi card or radio before connecting to the Tilt. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Hi Walk, I don't know what the Tilt is but I have the HTC touch pro. My phone starts to drain the battery once internet sharing is activated. The phone charges from the computer fine once that program is stopped. This is with the computer plugged in and with all the settings on the phone set to charge. The phone's battery drains so quickly, using it as a modem is almost useless. If you phone is like mine please review your settings, I may be missing somthing. I have spoke with my carrier and HTC and no one has been able to help. If someone is thinking about a HTC touch pro, I would wait till they fix this obvious glitch.

I'm having a simlar issue. My phone will charge while sharing (usb) but at any random time the battery will stop taking the charge. Once this happens I have to take out my battery wait then put it back in. Do you find this valuable?

Hey I had the same problem and google led me to this topic. It seems to be a heat issue. I've had the touch pro on a cold surface the past two days and it has been charging all day without a problem. It's next to the windows which is cold. Before I had it on the couch and I would have to restart it over and over again and switch battery because it would stop charging. Yeah, I noticed that if, I have less apps running or if I'm not downloading large files charging works better.

It's good to know that it is not just me. I have been working with Techincal Support for 2 weeks about this issue. I noticed that if I am running Sprint TV, Navigator, or any type of streaming activty on my Touch Pro, the phone stops charging. As soon as I close the applications down, the phone charges again.

HTC needs to allow for caching memory to an external card if the problem is the amount of data being streamed to the phone. Unfortunately I knew more about the phone and it's problems that tech support did. I'll try the cooling concept to see fi that works, but they need a fix to this problem.
