1. RE: Flash Player
Jan 8 2009, 10:24 PM EST
"I have a HTC Touch, but I have'nt been able find a flash player to work with my format. I have Windows Mobile 6.1 installed on my HTC Touch. Help!"To play Flash within IE (which sucks compared to Opera!) go here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer_pocketpc/ For stand-alone, I am not aware of any free players that actually work well enough. However, for about $19, there is always Bryht Flash Player, which works quite well. See: http://www.bryht.com/flash_player.htm Do you find this valuable? |

"skyfire.com you well get all you need in videos radio just like on your lab top or pc"What does that have to do with the original question? Skyfire is an Internet browser with server based website rendering. Do you find this valuable? |

ya there is a windows mobile 2.1 flashplayer you can download for free ive done it and found that it was useless becouse all windows mobile phone ready come with a sort of flashplayer type. but sounds like my thinking our friend here realy wants a type flashplayer that well work via flashplayer to upload videos youtube online and so then maybe am am not realy understanding question.windows mobile should come with 1.adobe reader le 2.java applications and like you said useing flashplayer via IE sucks on windows mobile. lets just hope microsoft well give us windows mobile users a free download to there new IE 6.5 wish works i hear a lot better then what we have now Do you find this valuable? |

The irony with the Adobe Flash plug in is that it only works with mobile IE but mobile IE can't even render the sites where Flash is used. So I ask, what's the point of the plug in if you can't really see the web site where the plug in is required? For Flash viewing via a website, get Opera (not the beta version)... I think it displays Flash. I don't know this for fact since only the Beta version works for me and it doesn't currently support Flash. Do you find this valuable? |

As far as I can tell this is not the beta version. I downloaded Skyfire and that didn't work on the audio sites either. Do you find this valuable? |

It is not a true browser, that is, in the sense of how it accesses sites; rather it is more of a terminal application (that's why is is so small compared to Opera 500k vs 5mb). Skyfire does not render the site on your browser, rather all rendering takes place on the Skyfire servers and then the website is streamed to your phone. Considering this, it doesn't actually have a flashplayer in it's 'browser'. Because of how Skyfire works, it is a safe bet that this will be a subscription service sometime after they complete their testing phase. Do you find this valuable? |
