I had a similar problem when adding new mp3's as ringers. I put them in the windows dir as you did and they were not displayed in the drop down list to choose as Incoming Calls, so I used File Explorer to confirm they were there. When I did a press and hold on the mp3 file, the mini-menu comes up with an option to set it as ringtone. When I selected it, a message box comes up saying "The ring tone has been copied to \My Documents\My Ringtones ..." it wasnt till then did it appear in the drop down list. I tested it for messages and it came up there too. Strange thing though .. when I added more mp3 to My Ringtones dir they are automatically in the drop down for "Phone: Incoming Calls" but none of the others. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. i DONT KNOW IF THIS WILL HELP BUT IF YOU FORMAT YOUR SONGS INTO WAV. FILES AND THEN COPY THEM TO THE WINDOWS FOLDER IT WILL WORK. I JUST FINISHED DOING THAT TO MINE AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY. HOPEFULLY THIS CAN HELP THOSE IN NEED. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

If you have windows 6.1 it should work if you put the files in \Application Data\Sounds folder. It works on my HTC s621 and I can use MP3s or Wav files. Also try the root directory of the Micro SD card if you have one. Do you find this valuable?

"How do you get to the /Application Data/ Sounds Folder?"
On my s621 when I'm on my home screen, I hit start, and find the file explorer. This opens into my documents folder. I need to hit UP to get back to the root menu. You should now see and select the application data folder. Now you should see the sound folder

If you're afraid to go into your phones dir and magle stuff up, don't worry, for all you newbies out there, there is an easier way.. although not as organized, you cant simply drop the sounds (mp3, wav etc) into your... My Documents, either one, the one in your main memory or on your storage card. Its that easy. Take care, and remember, share the info, remember how hard you looked for it! Make it easy for the next person..

oh yeah, and the My Ringtones folder is just that, for ringtones...ONLY, and when i say RINGTONES i mean the INCOMING CALL RINGER ONLY. I know its dumb but thats the truth... I know, I know, i dont like it either lol... 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
