Does anyone know how to work around the problem with 'Speak It' on ATT Navigator. When you choose to speak your QPS destination, it instructs you to hold the space key - as far as I can tell you have to slide open the keyboard at this point as none of the face buttons or touch screen act as the space key in this case.

Does anyone know how to get the GPS to work with Google Maps for Mobile or Microsoft Live Search? My HTC Fuze cannot find any GPS satellites and it seems like AT&T locked it out. If I activate the AT&T Navigator and then cancel, will the GPS work with other programs?

Page 31 of the Fuze User Manual states that AT&T Maps is installed . . . However I cannot find a way to access any map at all. Since I cannot afford the $10 mo. for AT&T Navigator, does that mean I cannot make use of this feature??

To change this go to: Start> Settings > (TAB) System > External GPS. Then it will ask you to "GPS program port" change it "com 0". Google Maps may ask of a different port. 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

After getting the message for the com 0 port, i closed out and changed. I tried to re-open it through the programs file and it says it can't open due to it not being signed with a trusted certificate. Did you have this problem? any suggestions on how to fix it? To configure it to do this, go to SETTINGS - ADVANCED then touch the icon for EXTERNAL GPS select teh PROGRAMS tab, and set the GPS program port to COM0 from the drop down list. Hit the OK button in the top right corner of the screen, then the "X" in teh top right of the next screen, hit the HOME key on the phone, and then proceed to launch LiveSearch as usual. Remember to go to MENU - SETTINGS in Live Search, and check to see that the GPS COM port is set to "GPS COM0 in the second drop down menue on the "Settings" page. Once again tap "OK" in the top right corner and you should be good to go! MadSci Do you find this valuable? |

OK so Telenav said that the Speak It option requires the QWERTY Spacebar to work but this may change in the future. For AT&T Maps, go to Start>Programs>AT&T GPS and tap on Get AT&T Navigator. It will see that you dont subscribe to Navigator and will download AT&T Maps instead. Do you find this valuable? |

Okay....this thread has jumped all over the place so instead of dealing with any one question I am just going to make some suggestions that I hope will help some of you. If you are still using Live Search you need to uprade to Bing for Windows Mobile at http://www.discoverbing.com/mobile. You should not have to configure anything because it is set by default to use "GPS intermediate driver" which has worked just fine for me. This is a free program and I cannot imagine life without it! You can control it by speaking to it, it knows where you are and searches you location by default, you can map your search results and then search the Web from Bing... and that is just the beginning. Concerning Google Maps....This is a great program and has its strong points as a map program, but Bing does more and does most of it better. If you are primarily wanting a map to track yourself Google Maps does this well, maybe a little better than Bing, but does not have the other great features that Bing has (too many to list here). Also, I have had an issue with Opera refusing to start when I had Google Maps installed. After I uninstalled Google Maps, the problem dissapeared. While I cannot say with certainty Google Maps caused the problem, it certainly seems to be the case. I have had to use external GPS to configure my other map program (Street Atlas) but never for Bing or Google Maps. If you have changed your port settings in your application, you will have to do assign a corresponding port in external GPS. If you use Bing, you should not have to mess with this at all. Hope this helps..... Do you find this valuable? |

"do i need to use media net to use google maps or is it free?"Both Google Maps and Bing Mobile are free to download and use. You do not need to limit yourself to Media Net to use applications. There are thousands out there! Do you find this valuable? |
