Organize Text Msgs on AT&T Tilt on WM6.1 not possible- any wrkarnds?

I recently installed the ROM update which upgraded my Tilt to WM6.1. However, because of the phone's inability to properly handle the new "threaded SMS" feature, it is no longer possible to move text messages to a subfolder. The "Move...", "Mark as Unread" , and "Copy to SIM" menu options are all disabled. It is also not possible to delete individual text messages without deleting all messages from a given contact. (In fact, it is not possible to view individual text messages at all without opening all messages from the sender). This is not a defect of WM6.1 itself, but a flaw in the way HTC has applied it to this phone. The Windows help text for Messaging actually mentions using the "Copy to SIM" menu option which HTC has disabled.
Does anyone know of a 3rd party software that will do this (not just view individual messages but also organize them in folders, like e-mail accounts)?
Hopefully, HTC will come to its senses and fix this bug sooner rather than later.

I just discovered a partial workaround to this problem. This will allow you to choose which individual messages to keep, rather than all the messages in a "conversation." The key is to trick the o/s into moving the messages to a folder other than the inbox (or sent items folder). That is the deleted items folder. That folder is not affected by the "conversation" grouping. :

1) In Messaging, tap Menu-->Options. In the Storage Tab, under "Empty Deleted Items" make sure "Manually" is chosen & tap ok.
2) Tap the "Messages" Account where text messages are sent. If needed, navigate to the Inbox.
3) Select all conversations and delete them.
4) Navigate to the Deleted Items folder. (One way is to tap Menu-->Go To-->Folders... and select the Deleted Items folder under Messages). You should now see all the messages you had deleted in step 1, but now they are "ungrouped", allowing you to work with each individual message.
5) Delete the messages you don't want (make sure you really want to get rid of them because this time, the deletion is permanent). For the messages you want to keep, either move them back to the Inbox (tap Menu-->Move... ) or to a folder you created b4 the WM6.1 upgrade.

Note: You can no longer create sub-folders under the Messages Inbox as in WM6.0.

Also, my apologies to HTC. This loss of functionality in working with text msgs is not HTC's fault. I have seen this issue on non-HTC phones running WM6.1.

One solution to this problem is to turn off threading in text messages. You can do it by downloading Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3 and turning off threading for text messages. Then text storage will work as it does in WM6.0
