"I loaded Advanced Config 3.3, checked the fast sleep (was disabled), exited, set 50 mins. for backlight,In Advanced Config there are two items to set under "Phone". I have set "Phone sleep during call" to "not allowed" and "Fast Sleep during call" as "disabled". With both of those set, my Tilt stays screen does not go to sleep during a call. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"That appears to work. Thanks for your help, I have been hating my tilt for months."I hated my Tilt until I found Kaiser Tweaks which is the predicessor to Advanced Config. KT solved many of my Tilt issues and AC has solved the rest. I'm looking forward to the TP2 coming out, but will miss my Tilt when I retire it. Do you find this valuable? |

"HTC doesn't consider this time out problem a bug. It's their way of saving battery power. Most people think it's a pain that HTC doesn't give you an easy way to revise the setting. The easiest way to solve this problem is to download and install Advanced Configuration 3.3. I originally fixed my Tilt using Kaiser Tweaks, but I have now started using AC3.3 which does everything Kaiser Tweaks does and much more - 200 tweaks altogether. I probably use 10 of them, but they are worth downloading the software. I put up a page on this Wiki called "Advanced Configuration" that gives you step by step instructions how to download and install the AC3.3 and Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5 which is necessary to run AC3.3 The best part off this program is that it does the Registry edits for you, so you don't have to risk messing with the Registry. When you get AC3.3 loaded, you tap on the Advanced Config. icon in the program folder, expand "phone" and go to "Fast Sleep during call" and check "disable"."I messed up b/c I downloaded the AC3.3 before I downloaded the .Net 3.5. After downloading AC3.3, I then downloaded the .Net 3.5 but I am still having trouble with my backlight staying on for the duration of the setting despite going into Advanced Config and changing settings. What do I need to do to make it work now? I tried unistalling and then reinstalling in the order I was supposed to initially but it's not working. Apparently the files do not uninstall completely b/c when I begin to reinstall the software, it tells me the file already exits and if I want to override it. I was only able to see one icon - advanced configuration - in the program menu of the phone. I was not able to see the .Net 3.5 icon. According to your post, I think I am supposed to see both icons in the programs menu after installing? Any suggestions or advice will be much appreciated. Thanks! Do you find this valuable? |

It doesn't matter which program you download first, but it is important to execute NCF3.5 before you execute AC3.3. AC3.3 is written with instructions that are based on NCF3.5, so it won't work unless these are operational. If you could see NCF3.5 in the list of programs to uninstall, it must have been loaded. Find the executable for NCF wherever you downloaded it to originally (probably your storage card) and tap it to execute. It will either execute and install or tell you it's already installed. Either way, start AC3.3 and follow my Post #21 above to reset the two options which will prevent the backlight from bombing out after 10 seconds. Do you find this valuable? |

I have installed the NETCFv3.5 successfully, according to pop up messages during the installation process, however, when I go to the Start>Programs the icon for NETCFv3.5 is not there. However the AC3.3 icon is there. When I go to the file explorer where I installed NETCFv3.5 and click to execute, it reinstalls the program but doesn't execute it. I downloaded NCF on both card and mobile but still can't make it execute. Perhaps I must be misunderstanding what you mean by 'execute'. Either way there is no icon in Start>Programs. I opened AC and configured per your instructions but my backlight still bombs out after 10 seconds. I am not worried about phone timing out while on a phone call as much when I am trying to read something on the screen (local paper) and the screen bombs out. I assume the set under "Phone" regards only while on a call and not while simply reading where phone requires being idle for more than 10 seconds. Thanks for previous post assistance. It is appreciated. Do you find this valuable? |
