Tilt Hard Reboot Problem??
Oct 4 2008, 8:01 AM EDT
Before I bought my Tilt phone, I read on some forums that people had to do a "hard reset" (removing the battery momentarily in order to be able to power back on) frequently. Since my phone arrived, I've had to do this at least two or three times a day, just to keep the phone working. It is a big pain, and I'm planning to call AT&T tech support on Monday. Has anyone else had this problem, and what is the fix? I don't want to exchange this phone for a refurbished phone; if I download Windows Mobile 6.1, will that help?I have had some successes. Wi-Fi works most of the time and I can make regular voice calls and (SMS) text messages. But AT&T has blocked the sending and receiving of multimedia (MMS) messages since I don't subscribe to one of their data plans. I downloaded the HTC Streaming Video software, and it allows me to view YouTube videos online very nicely. But most picture attachments to incoming e-mail messages simply don't show up. What exactly is not working that causes you to have to soft reset your device?? aside from the email attachments (if these are emails from Exchange, this option may have been disabled by your IT or if it is from ISP, you may have the attchment option disabled). It is a requirement to be running the latest software on your device to be considered for a warranty exchange so you may as well do the update to see if it corrects some of the issues that you are seeing. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. By holding down the camera button on the right side of the phone and simultaneously depressing the reset button to right of the memory card slot will perform the hard reset. Warning!!!!! All info will be erased and so save anything needed before hand.

I read a lot of these posts on many different threads/boards. I've had mine for a tad over a year and have yet to encounter a single problem with it. I think its frozen 1 time on me, that's it. To me, this is the best phone I've ever had!
