Unable to update to 6.1 Professional
Aug 19 2008, 6:29 AM EDT I have a HTC TyTN II on the 3 mobile network which states my serial number is invalid for upgrades. Is there any way around this ? 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

If you can provide your part number, (usually shows on your device under the battery as the SN) I may be able to tell you what country your device is from and where you can find software for it. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Thank you in advance"HT745GB19362 doesnt look like the SN for an AT&T Tilt; does your device have AT&T stamped on it? If it does not, you will not be able to use the AT&T WM 6.1 on your device. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Sep 1 2008, 6:51 PM EDT thats because it isn't an AT&T Tilt. although they are the same phone just different brand, the HTC TyTn 2 is the european version. i suspect that 3 have put their own rom on the device. i will call them in the morning and find out. i'll post back with their answer! Sep 2 2008, 3:49 PM EDT correct it is not a tilt, I bought it through an internet reseller. my guess is that it is a phone from the uk, given that I have GB in the serial number. what is confusing is that when I log in to the support section of HTC UK and plug in my serial for Rom upgarde it say : "Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device" - I have also looked on the net to figure out from the serial number where the phone was made, but after 3 hours no luck ... Do you find this valuable? |

Sep 5 2008, 8:25 AM EDT If you have purchased a Device from VODAFONE (VF produce their own branding) HTC will not support it - in this case Vodafone have state they will not provide WM6.1 for previous WM6.0 models as an upgrade. My company, which require up to 100 more of these devices will no longer purchase devices from Vodafone for their solution based on their refusal to upgrade these devices. Their loss! 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
