Phone has a problem - it won't connect via USB anymore. I get the following message from window "one of the USB devices (the phone) attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it".

Phone still charges and headset works - any ideas?

I've had the same issue on & off, usually I find this works; Under settings, connections PC-USB there is a check box to enable advanced network functionality, if it's checked un check it. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I am also facing some problem with USB. when I connect to USB it starts charging but active sync is not able to detect any mobile device.
Even computer doesn't prompt for new device.
I tried on many pcs (XP+Vista) , i hard reseted my set , but its not working..I tried with advance connection enabaled/disabaled...but not of any help..
I am able to connect to active sync via bluetooth , so problem is not with active sync or my PC, I think thr is some problem in USB port...
is anybody else facing same issue?

I have the same problem. The active synch recognizes the phone via Bluetooth connection, but not through the USB, although it will charge via USB. Hard reset did not solve the problem, neither does reinstalling Active Synch. HTC support said this is probably a hardware and not a software problem, and recommended that I send the phone in for repair. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
