Bell HCT 6800 phone volume bug
Jul 30 2008, 5:45 PM EDT Whenever I power down my unit completely (not sleep mode but complete shutdown), and then power back on, the previous phone volume setting is not retained......rather it is reset to a very low level. The device and ringer volumes are not affected, only the phone volume. While this is a relatively minor bug, it is a pain to have to readjust the volume every time I power the phone up. Has anyone else experienced this bug? Any fixes? Thanks very much Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Bell HCT 6800 phone volume bug
Jul 31 2008, 10:51 AM EDT I think I heard of this somewhere else in this forum....sorry can't find where. I too used to have this "feature". I'm not sure it's a bug...cause after I did the volume tweak I don't have this problem anymore. I think it uses that file to set the initial settings when it boots up. See this thread about fixing earpiece volume: http://www.htcwiki.com/thread/1092796/Help+available+with+the+earpiece+sound+volume%21 Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Bell HCT 6800 phone volume bug
Jul 31 2008, 11:34 AM EDT Thanks Tobradex. My name's Elliot by the way, but I can't sign in for some reason. Anyways, whenever I soft reset the phone or power down completely, it always resets the phone volume to the second highest setting. That would be alright, except that at this setting the phone volume is now extremely low (much lower than normal for this setting). All I have to do is manually reset the phone volume during my first call and everything is OK. For example if I then go from second highest volume to highest, the volume becomes normally loud and remains that way (until the next time I power the phone down completely or soft reset). So it's really only a minor issue, so please don't crack your head too much thinking about it. I can live with it if I have to, it's not even worth trying a hard reset. However it's the only bug in an otherwise perfect phone, and being a perfectionist, I'd rather fix it. Thanks again for replying Do you find this valuable? |
