Will HTC touch work OVER SEAS?

I purchased the HTC touch a few months ago on the SPRINT network. Thus far, I have had no problems with the device. In a few weeks I will be going on a trip to IRAN and was wondering; is this phone advanced enough to work with the networks over there? Im not sure what networks Iranian mobile providers run on, but maybe its a standard. Of course I would register it with that network but I wanted to see if anybody knew whether this phone could work with their services. THANKS!
