MMS problem sending/ receiving - Celtel Kenya
Jun 11 2008, 1:01 AM EDT I recently purchased an AT&T tilt and had it unlocked. Everything is working fine:- email, browsing, SMS except MMS. My GSM service provider is Celtel – Kenya and has given the setting below. Kindly assist with the picture messaging settings. Celtel WAP APN wap.ke.celtel.com User name wap Password wap Proxy IP 172.030.008.050 Port use 9201 if WAP 1.2 or 8080 if WAP 2.0 Note the WAP Port number may be either 8080 or 9201 depending on the WAP version on the handset, if you are not sure check www.gsmarena.com If it’s WAP 1.2 or earlier then you will receive 9201 from the Celtel Network or should input it manually. >If WAP 2.0 then 8080 will be sent by the Celtel Network or should be input manually. Celtel MMS APN mms.ke.celtel.com User name mms Password mms Proxy IP 172.030.008.050 Port 8080 Picture messaging (MMS) server = http://mms.ke.celtel.com/servlets/mms Picture messaging (MMS) retrieval URL = http://www.ke.celtel.com/mms The Portal URL = http://portal.ke.celtel.com in case its not stored as a bookmark from the network settings download, which is true for a few handsets 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Jun 12 2008, 7:59 AM EDT My colleague has a similar problem. His also bought his from eBay. It was locked to Cingular. We use the same GSM service provider – Celtel. Do you find this valuable? |

Jul 8 2008, 10:26 AM EDT We finally figured how to get it working. Not the most scientific way though. We configured the HTC for MMS. Then removed the SIM card and used a different phone (not a windows PPC) to sent an MMS. After that we returned the SIM card to the HTC and the MMS started working. We did the same to my colleague’s phone and it is also ok. The only problem is that the picture received on the other end is smaller! Do you find this valuable? |

I was having the same problem. 1. go to MMS options 2. click on the Servers tab 3. click on T-mobile MMS 4. where it says "Connect via:" make sure you select T-Mobile Data.
