I have been through and THROUGH these forums and tried everything (unchecking boxes, updates, hard reset, uninstalling, new cords, etc.) and I get the SAME problem.

My ATT 8525 is charging just fine - but Active Sync WILL NOT CONNECT.

Please help! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Also - let me add:

I was too tired and mad to add this last night:
1. I bought a brand new cable.
2. I have done a reinstall on everything and a hard reset.
3. I have checked and unchecked boxes (tried both ways).

Since the phone is charging - I know it is connected to the computer (the orangee charge light is on and the battery charges...).

Also - when I uninstall and reinstall ActiveSync - I follow the instructions on Getting Connected. After I plug my phone in - my computer sees it and "installs the drivers."

But Active Sync NEVER SEES IT.

UGH!!!! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Try unchecking and re-checking the "Allow USB Connections" in Activesync while your device is connected. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I did that 537 times.

But - after trying everything - I read somewhere that you should try doing a soft-reset WITH YOUR PHONE PLUGGED INTO YOUR COMPUTER.

That did the trick.

FINALLY. Do you find this valuable?

Please describe soft reset? Is it merely turning the power on the 8525 off then on? Or something more elaborate? Do you find this valuable?

I was told that MS VISTA was not going to work so I DL'd MS WINDOWS MOBILE and that works fine.
