Convert XT9 to T9 Regular

Yo! Thanks fly to all the contributors out there who've contributed on how to disable XT9. Now what I'd like to know is if there is any way you can rig HTC Smartphones (not just touch phones, mines a HTC 710 VOX), to Regular T9 and not XT9. XT9 is the worst thing to hit humanity. And I don't wanna go back to the jurassic era with multitap ABC input. All I want is the good old T9 (without the X Factor) I usually tap in lectures I hear. Now make a slight mistake typing 'CONVENIENT' and you get 26836438. The almighty number suggestion algorithm, unique to XT9. This is way bogus and by the time you realized what' you've done, its too late, and you have to manually delete all these numbers. At least with Traditional t9, it would've suggested a word close to convenient, albeit mispelled <-I
