May 23 2008, 3:18 PM EDT Three simple steps: 1. Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323538. This will show you how to increase the free memory of your device. You will need about 20MB. I recommend the 6 MB Pagepool. 2. Go to Battery Status, download version 1.05. Using the OMAP tab, set your processor to 234 mHz 3. May 23 2008, 4:26 PM EDT If you know someone with an IPhone, you can record the ring on your Touch by doing into the "Voice Record" mode and have the IPhone to play their ringtone - on your phone push the record button to record (copy) the ring. then go to MENU on bottom right & rename it for your phone, and save to ring tone, I just did that for the NEW Indiana Jones movie. I did this in the grocery store / card section where u cal listen to the new cards that R out, and I recorded it and assigned it to my Son, who has an IPhone, but lives in LA & I'm in Indiana. The "precious memory" is actually increased by the Pagepool tweak. After over a year of serious tweaking, I can say that none of these programs run well until memory is increased and the processor is sped. With one exception: the SPB programs, in my experience, do not work well with any configuration of the Wing. In addition, they are almost unmodifiable- you cannot change backgrounds or what you see very easily. iFonz is especially good in this category. Do you find this valuable? |

After over a year of serious tweaking, I can say that none of these programs run well until memory is increased and the processor is sped.Your still stealing from Peter to pay Paul, the pagepool is what allows for quick launch of applications from your rom. I am on a Kaiser so I don't do the low memory balance Wing and Touch owners do. Let's face it we are bogging down our devices with this " window dressing " for the cool factor. My point was not that this wasn't an excellent tweak to increase the memory on your Wing, my point was that I would not " waste " this new found increase on an iPhone UI when there is so much more out there. It is like saying " I just spent $499 on a new iPhone is there any software I can buy to make it look like a T-Mobile Wing ? 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Point is lot of these stupid fellow countrymen of mine, don't bother understanding the difference between a PDa, regular phone, iphone, moto, or any of the 30000 varieties that exist in the market . They are what i call people who fall for the adverts, and then end up using not even 1/4th of the power that each of these devices are capable of. And just cos their offices allow them to google and there is a random answer to any query on google, they end up on forums filled with WM enthusiaists trying to understand what their stupid non compatible to anything iphone can do.. Please dont encourage such losers.. Sorry Amit.. u need to know what u want from which lot.. pl google for 'freeware pocket pc" lot of iphone icons over there.. Do you find this valuable? |
