gps software and maps for tytn II
Apr 28 2008, 3:24 AM EDT i am trying to download google maps for my tytn II but after downloading from site, i can not find the file to install or setup the program on my PC and HTC. If any one have an idea pls advise. I am looking for gps software to use on tytn II having middle east maps, espicially egypt. Thanks in advance 9 out of 11 found this valuable. Do you? |

Thanks in advance"If you go to www.googelmaps.com/gmm, click on Download Google Maps and then Yes in the pop up dialog box, then Yes again, select where you want to install the application, tap on install and then it will install and be found in your Programs folder as Google Maps. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Apr 30 2008, 6:25 AM EDT "If you go to www.googelmaps.com/gmm, click on Download Google Maps and then Yes in the pop up dialog box, then Yes again, select where you want to install the application, tap on install and then it will install and be found in your Programs folder as Google Maps."when i type "www.googlemaps.com/gmm" it takes me to "http://www.google.com/mobile/gmm/index.html", where i click on "download google maps", it leads me to "http://www.google.com/mobile/gmm/stp-js.html", where i select "windows mobile" pop up apear asking for downloading "googlemaps.cab" i save it to the desktop then folder is created "GoogleMaps" it is compressed and i extract it, but i can not run any file as nothing have .exe extension. the setup file is XML document, Pls advise thanks Do you find this valuable? |

Or you can take the googlemaps.cab file, save it to your TyTN II and open it from there. These .CAB files or Cabinet files are designed to be run on your WM device and not through the ActiveSync connection. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

May 5 2008, 9:48 PM EDT You can also go to www.google.com on your TyTN II and there is the link Gmail, Maps & More... If you click on it, it will take you to a list of options, one of which is Maps (Download). Click on it and it will tell you where it will save the file. Click on the box labeled Open file after download then click on Yes. You will have the option to change the file location during the process. When complete, the Google Maps icon will be in your programs folder. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Any way, i was also wondering is there a way to download maps to avoid accessing the internet each time for using google maps on my Tytn II.
