"In fact, I think this is the perfect place to make the post as the Initial Post says it all! Many HTC phones experience this GPS issue. It is a shame that people like yourself choose to use semantics and distraction to keep people from pursuing their issues on these threads. I hope you are employed by HTC in some manner as your certainly are doing their bidding!"
Maybe it u hadn't been a tight wad in the first place, u would have looked over the device before u ever purchased it. I have htc 8925, and except for the IM program, which I want to upgrade, I have nothing but good thing to say about it. The only area I got problem with has nothing to do HTC but my carrier and they sloppy way they upgrade the tower from Edge to G3. Before that started, I had great service! Why dont u put a sock in ur mouth!

"This is a users sharing forum where users share their experiences to help other users. It is not an HTC help line and no one here works for HTC or gets paid for helping you, we are merely fellow phone owners trying to direct people to the right places to get their phones working.

Apparently you have no desire for help, as you have succeeded in alienating the two people on this site ( browntannis and myself ) who offer the most help to the most people. Good luck, because with that attitude , you will be getting no help from me.

Here's a hint, it was Verizon who disabled your GPS not HTC."
Hi,
I was wondering how does Verizon disable my GPS? I have been through this for the past 5 months with Alltel and trying to get my Alltel Navigation to work. Please help me to understand what Verizon did and why? I need to know. I have been trying to find something that is compatible but nothing seems to be out there for the plain HTC Touch. Thank you for any assistance that you can be for me.

When Verizon contracts their phones from HTC, they specify what they want on the phone for features and what they don't want. HTC then has it's programmers write the rom for the phone that contains only these features. The GPS in Verizon phones is locked to Verizon navigator.

There are hacks to get around this, but again it requires some registry hacks and some .cabs to be installed to unlock your GPS from Verizon/ALLtel.

very true, htc sales the phones to your provider but it is your provider that takes away the goodies and modifis them for there good so you well have to pay extra to use them, htc has great phones i my self cant wait for HTC Rhodium, aka Touch Pro2 to come to tmobile just hope thay dont take the goodies and modifi them, but then tobile has been ok so far with what i get from them, Do you find this valuable?
