HTC-Touch Dual Freezes
Jan 28 2008, 4:11 AM EST my htc touch keeps on freezing. it happens once or twice a day. after it goes into standby mode there is no way to wake it up other than a soft reset. doesn't happen every time, but enough it gets annoying. btw, when it freezes anyone calling you gets an "out of reach" message while you have no idea thinking your phone is only in standby. if anyone has an idea as to what is causing this or a possile fix i would much appreciate it. 6 out of 7 found this valuable. Mar 18 2008, 11:26 AM EDT Exactly same here - tried HTC Tech SUpport but didn't get anywhere. They said device must be faulty, but I've tried replacing it already and am getting same fault 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Apr 1 2008, 10:53 PM EDT I'm having exactly the same problem in Australia. All that I can do is remove the battery, then reinstall it and restart the phone. In other words, a reboot. It's the universal Microsoft solution for everything. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Apr 9 2008, 6:36 PM EDT Ihad the same on my Touch. Finally replaced the phone, same problem. I added an 8gb storage card and the problem went away. My wife had the same problem so I added a 2gb card and her problem disappeared. Do you think they might no have enough memory installed at the factory????? 2 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

If you save everything to the device memory (instead of a storage card) and dont clear out your browser hsitory and temp files, you are going to run low on memory. Before swapping out your orginal Touch, you should have checked to see memory you had free, probably would have saved you the trouble. 3 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: HTC-Touch Dual Freezes
Apr 10 2008, 3:06 PM EDT i have to say that i dont have to reboot as often as you say. but unfortunately my problems is that the phone actually freezes. in a middle of a call, in the middle of the incoming call sound, anytime, i just can wait for minutes until it hang up by it self. so, i guess is a phone software prob. that it doenst hang up... ever. i have to tell others to hang up for me from the other side... 1 out of 1 found this valuable. RE: HTC-Touch Dual Freezes
May 23 2008, 8:16 AM EDT Just got mine from Orange around 3 weeks ago, and mine periodically freezes when it's in standby and won't wake up. As others, the only solution is to pull the battery and reboot it. The only software i've got installed is a fix to change the C for an A on text input, and copilot. I'm confused why it only happens when it's in standby? 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: HTC-Touch Dual Freezes
Jun 8 2008, 1:04 AM EDT i have a HTC touch, and mine keeps freezing also. I have 7mb free storgage space on my storage card, and like 8mb free on my phone memory. Do you think this is to low for the phone to run without lagging and freezing? It seems to freeze when i try closing programs that are still running that i don't want to use anymore. Then i turn the screen off then back on and sometimes it will go back to normal and other times it will just freeze more lol. My I.T teacher told me not to get a HTC microsoft phone...damn i wish i had listened to him now!! 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: HTC-Touch Dual Freezes
Jun 28 2008, 4:19 AM EDT I have the same problem. I've bought this device in early February and after few days I decide to send it to the tech assistance. The phone came me back with the same problem, so I've sent it again... few days ago I've got it. But nothing.. phone freezes continuously. So I’ve called the htc italy and they say that the problem is the Bluetooth. Now I turn it on only when I need it and the phone work fine... it freezes one times a week now... I think it's a faulty product! Sorry for English, I’m Italian. Bye Roberto S. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: HTC-Touch Dual Freezes
Jul 24 2008, 7:15 AM EDT We also have the same issue, our company has just used the HTC Touch Dual as the new company phone and we are seeing the fault with 100% of devices. I've noticed that it only seems to occur when the 3G connection is up (ie active sync or pirect push services). If I go into coms manager and drop the data services and stop direct push I stop the device from crashing. Can anyone else confirm my finding or dismiss them? Do you find this valuable? |

Aug 3 2008, 7:06 AM EDT With the MDA Touch Plus (same as Touch Dual) from T-Mobile the same problem. Very funny you mentioned 3G because the problem here seems to occur when i have a 3G connection active or searching for one. Should that be the problem? Do you find this valuable? |

RE: HTC-Touch Dual Freezes
Aug 6 2008, 5:52 PM EDT Out of curiosity, what version of Windows are you guys running? I read in another post (http://www.htcwiki.com/thread/1532988/WINDOWS+MOBILE+6.1+UPDATE+FOR+HTC+TOUCH+DUAL?t=anon) about V6.0 and v6.1 being available only in certain areas (countries), and I was wondering if it is only v6.0 that's freezing, or whether v6.1 is doing the same thing. I'm planning on getting the HTC Touch Dual shortly, and I don't want a phone that is buggy (or slower than the SE P990i). Regards Alwyn Do you find this valuable? |
